The Town Hall Extention, completed in 1977 immediately divided locals regarding its architectural value. Those who loved it knew it affectionately as "the egg-box building". Those who hated it called it...."the egg-box building!", I can't think of a better definition for post-modernism in architecture, though clearly this building was certainly not post-modern in style.
