Barkers Pool contains the Sheffields City
Hall. This dramatic and traditional music venue remains
one of the few great buildings of the city centre. It
came close to destruction during World War II, If you
look closely at the front columns, you can see shrapnel
damaged from a nearby bomb. In front of the City Hall
is the cities War
Memorial, build in the early 20s, at the same time
as the City Hall.
Today the City
Hall has closed, for a year of refurbishment. |
