Sheffield Cathedral Church of St Peter
and St Paul is a rebuild of an earlier church that occupied
this site in the 13th century. During the Barons' war,
the earlier church, along with most of the town was burned
down. The current church was built in 1430, but has been
extended a number of times since then. Looking at the
photograh above, you can see the latest extension to the

Across the road from the Cathedral is another place of
note. The Cutlers' Hall. A very fine livery hall that
was built in 1832. A luxury venue, richly decorated, with
catering by Sodexho Prestige. It's unlikely I've ever
get in. |

Sheffield
always likes to have a backup. Two Main Rivers,
two Universities, two football team.. It also has
both a Church of England and Roman Catholic Cathedral.
The CoE Cathederal is based on Church Street, and
has a history that spans back to the 13th century.
