St Marie's - on Norfolk Row

St Marie's Roman Catholic Cathederal doesn't enjoy the prominance of the Anglican Cathederal, nestled away, as it is, on a narrow side-street (Norfolk Row) off Fargate.

The mass was held in the house of the steward of Duke of Norfolk, Coal Pit Lane (now Cambridge Street) from 1700. Lord's House, Norfolk Row c.1710, Mission founded 1728. Chapel founded 1816, Present church founded 1850, St Marie's became the Cathedral of Hallam Diocese in 1980.
St Marie's " ...Ave Maria Gracia Plena Dominus Tecum"
