Sheffield City Centre - Sheffield Hallam University

City campus in the background

Sheffield Hallam University is now one of the largest and most respected in the country. I attended during the early 90s, and found the quality of its courses and lecturers to be extremely good. In line with the universities Polytechnic origins, the philosophy has always been to develop students for the real world and for the demands of industry. Most of the best academic staff had proved themselves outside the protective confines of academia.

Psalter Lane Campus, where I studied design

The city campus was just about to undergo its rebirth as I was finishing my studies. Most of my time was spent at the Psalter lane campus, which housed the School of Art and Design.

Sheffield Hallam University is the cities second university. In 1992, the year I began by undergraduate studies there, Sheffield Polytechnic became Sheffield Hallam University.
