Sheffield City Centre - Sheffield Midland Station

Sheffield Midland Station Frontage (Not my photograph - Credit goes to Chantrey's photos)

Okay, Sheffield Midland Station's significance as a landmark is probably supported only by the fact that trains full of people regularly arrive here. What you may not know though is that Sheffield once had a Victoria Train Station. It was located next to the Victoria hotel, which is still running after 100 years.

Sheffield's Victoria Station - photo take from Railway archives.

Sheffield Midland will soon be redeveloped. First impressions are important, and the first impression people have got when arriving in Sheffield by train has never been good. because so much of the cities grime has been stacked up against the railway system.

The new decorations should help bring a touch of class to the station.

Coming soon as part of Sheffields decade spanning regeneration efforts
