Falling (SERIOUSLY) behind

So much for making this blog a daily routine -- it's been too easy to let even a 3-minute daily commitment slip. So here is my quick attempt at a catch-up. When last I wrote, the world was gripped in snow and ice. Here we are a fortnight later and it's relatively warm. "It's TOO COLD daddy" (Not much) Room on the broom This past weekend we visited a new place. Anglers Country Park, near Wakefield. Nice playground, nice book-themed wooden sculptures, otherwise this is just a fairly unexceptional walk around a lake. The boys enjoyed it a lot - that's good enough for me, I guess. Shamreyev Rebuild The reconstruction of my old degree show project has reached a point where I can cast it off into the great folder of pending work in the cloud(s). I've already moved back to the long-term project of building a ship or two from Chuck Gannon's books -- probably the Andrew Bolton-class ship that appeared at the beginning of my nearly disuse

Old shoe full of jam

I've been busy, so the updates have slowed down. I'm not going to whip myself about it - at least not extra hard. Birthday Party On Saturday I took Noah and Leo to Ted's 5th birthday party, at Castaway's cove  which was the boy's favourite soft play, until last year. They had a great time, and I had one of those weird realisations, that I've had a few times, that I've shared the bus home with Ted's dad for about 10 years -- Britain's biggest village eh? Clara cut short her catch-up sleep and came to collect us in the car. Sunday, Clara was off work. We had a lazy morning and a relaxed stroll around the city centre in the afternoon.

SNOW

So last week we got hit by the "Beast from the east", a weather front of heavy snow that gripped the UK with icy claws for the whole week. Tracy, Rose, and Jake had to cancel their trip to Scotland as the train service was knocked out for most of the week. A quiet land Noah had half the week off school and I ended up working from home, as a result. We finally managed to play a session of Amazing Adventures. I used Magiporr as the setting. And also, progress on the Shamreyev.
